About Maputo National Park
Maputo National Park is one of the planet's richest biodiversity eco-regions. Located in the southernmost part of Mozambique, the Park is about 2 and a half hours from the center of Maputo and the city's airport.
Bordered by the Indian Ocean and Maputo Bay, this 77,000-hectare conservation area includes an extensive and impressive African wildlife, with around 250 elephants as its inhabitants, joined by hippos and crocodiles in the lagoons and giraffes, zebras, kudus, impalas and gnus along its length.
It is also possible to find more than 350 species of birds in the Park.

The Park was created in 1932, with the intention of protecting the elephant population that lived there.
Since 2010, other animals have been repopulated here from South Africa,
making this reserve an ideal place to admire these majestic animals and do birdwatching.
Throughout this area, you can find several lagoons, virgin beaches along the coast,
meadows and coastal forests on the dunes.
Discover the Park and let yourself be enchanted by the colors, life, nature
and diversity that we are presented with on each visit.
